Dr. Susan L. Karamanian is Dean of Hamad Bin Khalifa University College of Law. In the framework of the Guest Lecture Series on Current Issues in International Law and Global Security, Peace and Development, she delivered a guest seminar on “Arbitrators as Peacemakers?” on 28th September 2021.
Dr. Vasilka Sancin is Professor of Public International Law, Head of the Department of International Law, Director of the Institute for International Law and International Relations at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Law. She was also a member of the UN Human Rights Committee (2019-2022). In the framework of the Guest Lecture Series on Current Issues in International Law and Global Security, Peace and Development, Dr. Sancin delivered a guest seminar on “The Role of the United Nations in the Protection of Human Rights” on 5th October 2021.
Dr. Lauri Mälksoo is Professor of International Law at the University of Tartu. In the framework of the Guest Lecture Series on Current Issues in International Law and Global Security, Peace and Development, he delivered a guest seminar on “Russian Approaches to International Law” on 12th October 2021.
Dr. Jelena Bäumler is Professor of public and international law with a focus on sustainability at Leuphana University Lueneburg. Dr. Giedre Jokubauskaite is Senior Lecturer in international law at the University of Glasgow. In the framework of the Guest Lecture Series on Current Issues in International Law and Global Security, Peace and Development they delivered together a guest seminar on “COP26: Towards the ‘global environmental summit’ in Glasgow” on 19th October 2021.
Vaios Koutroulis is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and Deputy Director of the Center for International Law. In the framework of the Guest Lecture Series on Current Issues in International Law and Global Security, Peace and Development he delivered a guest seminar on “Current issues in the law of self- defence” on 26th October 2021.
Dr. Robert Kissack is an Associate Professor at the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI). In the framework of the Guest Lecture Series on Current Issues in International Law and Global Security, Peace and Development he delivered a guest seminar on “The European Union as an actor in the multilateral system” on 2nd November 2021.
Dr. Henri de Waele is a Professor of International and European Law at Radboud University. In the framework of the Guest Lecture Series on Current Issues in International Law and Global Security, Peace and Development he delivered a guest seminar on “The European Union’s contemporary role and ambitions as an international security actor” on 9th November 2021.
Dr. Stephen Gethins is a Professor of Practice in International Relations at the School of International Relations of the University of St Andrews. In the framework of the Guest Lecture Series on Current Issues in International Law and Global Security, Peace and Development he delivered a guest seminar on “Nation to Nation: Scotland’s place in international relations” on 16th November 2021.
Dr. Robin Geiss serves as the Director of the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) and retains the role of Affiliate Professor at the School of Law of the University of Glasgow. In the framework of the Guest Lecture Series on Current Issues in International Law and Global Security, Peace and Development he delivered a guest seminar on “ILGSPD: The view from within the United Nations” on 23th November 2021.
