Radboud University

Radboud University is a comprehensive, internationally-oriented university that aspires to be one of the best in Europe. Radboud University challenges its students to actively participate in the scholarly community and trains them to be critical and committed academics, with their own views regarding research and society, who will take up responsible positions in a society that is becoming increasingly internationalised. The university’s staff and students come from all over the world, and a large proportion of the Dutch student population has spent at least some months studying abroad.

The Law Faculty

The Nijmegen Faculty of Law has a longstanding reputation for quality, both in research and in teaching. The faculty combines its high standards with personalised education. For students, the attractiveness of this faculty lies particularly in the fact the relatively small class size. This makes it possible for lecturers to connect and interact at a deeper level, and that integration into the local university community is easy. Moreover, lecturers and students are usually able to speak two or three languages other than Dutch and very much welcome foreign students.

The Faculty of Law is housed in a modern environment: the Grotius building. It boasts the biggest legal library in the Netherlands (3 floors), 2 moot court rooms, dedicated learning spaces, a restaurant and an espresso bar. The Law Faculty has more than 280 staff members and approximately 2,700 students. There are two high-quality research centres: the Radboud Business Law Institute (OO&R) and the Centre for State and Law (SteR), which includes the renowned Centre for Migration Law (CMR).

Nijmegen

Nijmegen is a true university town with a large variety of shops, restaurants and cafés. The city is the oldest in The Netherlands, dating back to Roman times. Today, it has 175,000 inhabitants, 30,000 of whom are students. Students especially appreciate the options for relaxation and entertainment in all shapes and sizes. It offers countless cultural opportunities, from the many museums, galleries, theatre, a concert hall and cinemas to unique happenings such as the International Four Days Marches, the Samba and Salsa Festival, and the Rockin’ Park event. Nijmegen is a safe, friendly place to live and study. Furthermore, it is a pleasantly green city, located at the river ‘Waal’, whereby inhabitants may enjoy a beach picnic or barbecue in the summer. Nijmegen also prides itself on its numerous parks.
